Can't delete it by moving it to your Recycle Bin? If you have probelm with using Motorola Device Manager, you can manage your Motorola with Android Manager.
The program in your tablet was installed only so that it can be recognized by the desktop version of MDM. It just provides functions and features to make your life easier when you connect the tablet to a PC.
Motorola Device Manager is an application developed to support a wide range of Motorola devices as long as they have Android as the operating system. Unfortunately, Verizon e815 is called a feature phone that lacks the Android operating system and can't be used with the Motorola Device Manager. These phones have their own proprietary applications that can be installed on PCs to transfer the data (contacts, SMS, multimedia files, etc).
You should check the installation package on the CD that arrived with your phone to be able to connect it to PC.
I have tried several times to sync ripped MP3 files from a desktop to my Moto G (2nd Gen) phone. I'm doing this through Windows Media Player. It says "Sync finished," but the files never show up on my phone. These are audiobook CDs from the library. Will this device manager help me do this?

The Motorola Device Manager application is primarily used to update the firmware on the supported devices. I've attached a Motorola phone to my PC and launched MDM, but it only checked the firmware version and nothing else which means you need to use another procedure to transfer the contacts from mobile to PC.
Most of the Android devices have a possibility of exporting contacts from its interface. Locate the Contacts icon, then press on Settings > Export. Select the contacts you want to export and confirm the procedure. The file will most likely be saved in the root of your internal storage.
The file will be in VCF or CSV format. VCF will be opened by Windows, while CSV is more versatile and can be loaded into Excel.
